Full scholarships are available for accepted doctoral students, including tuition, living stipends, and health insurance.

Applying to One of Three GW Doctoral Programs

Trainees must apply and be accepted to the Social and Behavioral Sciences doctoral program in the GW Department of Prevention and Community Health in the Milken Institute School of Public Health or the GW Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences in the GW Columbian College of Arts & Sciences in either the Clinical Psychology or Applied Social Psychology doctoral programs.

Statement of Interest and Reference Information

In addition to their application to one of the GW doctoral programs listed above, individuals interested in being a TASHI trainee are asked to submit the following:

  • A statement of interest (no more than 1,000 words) that explains:
    • how the program aligns with the applicant’s career and research interests
    • the level of foundational work the applicant has conducted around health inequities and intersectionality
    • the applicant’s potential to be an exemplar for the program over time and their synergy with the training and career aspirations of other program trainees
  • A current CV/resume
  • The name, title, and email address of an individual who can provide a reference.
